Yellow Springs bluegrass speedsters Pauls Apartment has accomplished an earful in the two years since the band formed. Last summer it hit the tour circuit, performing at various venues such as The Grassroots Music Festival in Indiana opening for such bands as ekoostik hookah and Rays Music Exchange. Not to mention that, Pauls Apartment’s drummer is non other that Greg ‘Duke’ Dewey, the former drummer of Country Joe and The Fish who performed at the original Woodstock in 1969. With a solid psychedelic and bluegrass background, Pauls Apartment will release their newest Album, Utilities included, with a CD release party this Friday.
“Some people have told us we sound ‘Americana.’ Rev Cool of WYSO called it ‘psychotic bluegrass,’ but we describe ourselves as a ‘groovin’ acoustic bluegrass rock jam band,” said Donna Lynn Johnson.
With upbeat energetic songs including the call and response tune, “Baby”, the lyrical “Kitch” and fan favorite, “Tastee Freeze”. Pauls Apartment performs down to earth foot tapping music to which a music fan of any age can relate.
